The Peñoncillo beach, between Torrox Costa and Nerja, is a long stretch of sand about 1,400 metres long and 30 metres wide, and is still largely unspoilt, so bathing is highly recommended. It is also very close to the N-340 road, making it easy to access.
This part of Torrox Costa, is the newest in buildings, being divided in two. The part of apartment buildings, along part of the N-340, and the upper area, known as Terrazas del Peñoncillo, where the development is of single-family homes.
El Peñoncillo, is only a few minutes walk to the roundabout at the entrance to Torrox, and therefore close to all services. However, the beach side is full of beach bars and restaurants. 1.5 km to the centre of Torrox Costad and the bus station, 65 km to the airport (40 minutes), and there is a bus stop in the beach area, to go to Torrox, Nerja or Malaga.
HOW TO GET THERE
The capital of the Costa del Sol, Malaga, and its airport are easily accessible by car, bus or train. To get to El Peñoncillo beach, you must go to the area of Torrox from the Mediterranean Expressway (A-7, N-340) and take the exit to Torrox, and from there take the N-340 towards Nerja.
