Have you recently cleaned your furniture and floors, but can already see dust accumulating again? We know how frustrating it can be. But don’t worry, with these home remedies you can delay the appearance of dust in your home. It won’t disappear completely, but it will take longer to appear. Take note!

The first idea is to make your own homemade dust repellent. Mix two cups of water, one cup of vinegar, two tablespoons of olive oil and two drops of liquid dish soap. Put everything in a spray bottle and it will last a long time. You can use it for both hardwood floors and furniture.

Now, let’s move on to specific tricks for different surfaces:

Wooden furniture: apply a mixture of vegetable oil, turpentine, and vinegar in equal proportions on a microfiber cloth. You’ll see the difference…

Wooden floors: after cleaning with the product you usually use, run a damp mop in white cleaning vinegar and focus on the corners.

Textiles: curtains, carpets… If you want them to take longer to accumulate dust, soak them in water with coarse salt before washing them.

Mirrors and glass: although they may accumulate more fingerprints than dust, add a few drops of glycerin to the water you use to clean them to delay dust accumulation.

Plants: the larger the leaves, the more dust they accumulate. Did you know that beer can be your ally to clean them? Soak a cloth in a little beer and you’ll see how long it takes for dust to accumulate.

Screens: whether for television or computer, we often don’t realize that they easily accumulate dust when exposed directly to the sun. The solution is to use coffee filters soaked in a little distilled water.

Upholstery: don’t forget to vacuum them while you vacuum the floor. If the fabric is cotton, it will help to run a damp cloth with cleaning vinegar over it.

In addition to these tips, there are other elements that can help delay the appearance of dust in your home, such as an air purifier to minimize suspended particles or anti-dust curtains with special fabric to prevent dust adhesion. There are also paints that help fight mites and bacteria, although they are not the definitive solution.
